At The Fir Hill, in secluded fields and woodland just four miles from Newquay’s beaches, you’ll have a Real Glamping experience to remember, with sustainability at its heart.
You and your family or friends, will stay in luxurious, spacious Yurts overlooking the stunning Porth Reservoir and Cornish countryside.
With dedicated outdoor kitchens, your own fire pit and use of all our indoor facilities including TV and games room, individual bathroom facilities and the run of over sixty acres of grounds on our historic estate, we know you’ll have a wonderful holiday with us
After extensive research, we’ve brought authentic Mongolian style ‘Gers’ to The Fir Hill, as the main accommodation for our guests.
Each of our twelve Luxury Yurts is made up of five material layers including a 12mm thick layer of 100% sheep wool felt, sourced from Mongolia, which keeps our guests warm in winter and cool in summer.
As well as comfort, providing our guests with as much space as possible was a priority. Each of our nine Family Yurts has a diameter of 6.6m with floor space of 34.4m2. The side walls are 1.6m in height and the roof is up to 2.9m at its highest point. We have three Couples + Yurts for couples or smaller groups or families – each with a double and a single bed
Each Yurt has its own personal cooking area with gas stove, cool box, running water for drinking and washing up, tea and coffee making facilities, and food storage facilities with pots and pans.
Traditional, Luxury Yurts
Each of our twelve Yurts is tastefully decorated and includes spacious accommodation for up to six guests, consisting of a king size bed and two double beds in the nine Family Yurts and a double and single bed in our three Couples + Yurts. All bedding and bed linen is included. Each Yurt has its own kitchen shelter, outdoor seating area and fire pit, with BBQ facilities, as well as the use of a private indoor bathroom in the main building.
Dog Friendly Yurts
Five yurts are dog friendly, four family yurts and one Couples + Yurt, so you can enjoy your holiday with your beloved family pet. All bedding and bed linen is included. Each Yurt has its own kitchen shelter, outdoor seating area and BBQ facilities
