Beautiful walks from the site and from the village centre. Just arrive, chill and relax taking in the peace and tranquillity around you!

The Woodside Welcome Cafe next door can provide you with breakfasts brought to your cabin and other meal options too!

Easy access to a host of village amenities to fully service all your needs – 2 miles to its centre from the site. 2 x excellent pubs (The Blue Bell Inn) and (The Bridge End Inn) only 1 mile away. The Co-op, Dalston Fryer Fish n chip shop, Carrock Meats Butchers & The Country Kitchen Café.

Should you choose to leave the car at home. You can get the train into our village from either Carlisle City station or from the West Coast line. We can offer to collect you from the station and drop you off again for your return journey (now that covid rules have subsided).

Thornfield Camping Cabins is set in a picturesque landscape and rural setting between the border city of Carlisle and Caldbeck on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Karen and Andrew have welcomed clients since July 2016 and along with their team, they aim to provide you with a warm welcome and a pleasant stay; and if you wish you may bring your well-behaved four legged friends too! Providing high quality, affordable and warm year-round self catering accommodation with home from home comforts, in a tranquil rural setting, a real back to nature holiday experience surrounded by woodlands, walks, a range of wildlife and extensive rural views.
